As the week draws to a close, we reflect back on Family Camp for 2010 and have to give God the glory for what was a truly spectacular weekend. What made it so? As someone mentioned on Wednesday night, the ‘spirit of the camp’ was different this year. The lessons were very meaningful, challenging in many ways, while also being extremely encouraging and edifying.
Here are some photos from camp, and some comments passed on from Wednesday night.
if you have more photos send them in to me, and feel free to add comments about camp below.
Some comments when asked about highlights from camp this year:
- a repeated theme through the lessons that “the things God has done for His people, and yet they are quick to forget”….”How we can be like the Israelites in that way”
- recurring through the lessons was “the power of God”
- “in the first century Christians were dying for their faith, how many people are ‘dying’ for their faith, or dying to go to church, today?”
- we need “truth revealed, not truth concealed”
- “we can’t move forward with concealed sin in our lives” (referring to Achan, looking at how that applies today)
- “being righteous is not just the absence of evil” – yep, that’s right, just because we didn’t knock over a little old lady and steal her purse today….
- “thought provoking food for thought” -> “Sabbath rest”, “how God manipulated the events of the OT shadows for the NT reality”
